Responding actually to your "how to Tumblr this" inquiry that I already wasted my two cents on before actually reading your link...

I like the quote-yourself-with-a-link to-read-further system. The blurb you posted fit right into my stream of silly posts, with no spammy aftertaste.

I'm trying to figure this out myself. I have way more interesting things to post than my "macro-Twit" would suggest, and while rapidly shrinking, my attention span still traverses several paragraphs with a normal breathing pattern. I like Tumbling, and I want there to be some way to incorporate the longer pieces. So I'll probably use Posterous to crosspost to LJ and a separate Tumblr that I accept will likely have negative tumbularity.

Also, so as not to be totally off-topic, I'm also interested in this sort of system-level tech prognosticatorializing. You might take a look at what currently is my web futurism Tumblr called Tweetstream, esp. the first two posts. I'm sort of in a what-to-do-about-these-old-school-blogs limbo. I really wanna do all my social reading and writing through one interface for following and sorting and all that. So far Tumblr, while far from perfect, is pretty cool for that. Maybe you have some ideas in that direction. -Rik
