Glad to see someone has similar thoughts and observations about the fascinating group of people developing around Twitter and the game it has produced. And even though we mostly follow different groups on Twitter, I am amazed at how much I can personally relate to, and agree with, you on just about every aspect of the article.

Great article. Thanks for the insight. Look forward to more.

Daily, I cling to the edge of the planet and my sanity. The words, the words, the words; they are life sometimes to the isolated, not-living-in-Chicago, not-living-in-living-in-San Francisco, not-living-in-New York people who are most of us.

Great post. Thank you. From Sitka, Alaska.

Very interesting. Just read both pieces.

I've been to the Chicagoish tweetups, and really enjoyed them. I'm really impressed by how many people have traveled great distances to join us. I wish I could have gone to New York or could make San Francisco. And in the last six months several people passing through Chicago on business or vacation have made an effort to meet up with me or others and it's been a lot of fun.

The perception of there being a certain Favrd crowd is interesting. The funny thing is that if people made lists of who that is, they'd probably all come up with different names. Everyone's Twitter stream and Tumblr feed is at least slightly different. At the same time I always find it fascinating how some people insist "everyone follows @joeschmitt", as though 5,000 followers meant that I came pre-installed with Twitter (@toldorknown even joked once about @hotdogsladies being a default follow for new accounts, and of course now it's @sween or @abigvictory thanks to Twitter's Suggested Users). In fact it is like you said where there are rifts, based on differences and jealousy, just like in all human groups. Thankfully when I've been at tweetups the stray hater or two have been civil. No doubt because they sensed the rules of the group wouldn't stand for someone picking fights.

Thanks for the interesting read. Look forward to the next one.

Very well thought out. I need to read it a couple of times to digest everything, but I like where you went with this.
